Open House is your opportunity to: see the school and visit the classrooms meet the teachers and staff signup for aftercare signup for the PTA support our PTA and Foundation purchase PTA spirit wear, and volunteer and so much more! Your time at Open House time is determined by your child’s last name.

This year’s Briarlake Reading Bowl had an outstanding year and finished in 3rd place at the District competition! We look forward to having another great year in 2017-18 and summer reading is where it all begins! Briarlake’s 2017 Summer Academic Challenge continues with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) focus of the 2016-2017 school year. The purpose of the Summer Academic Challenge is to maintain academic skills, relate STEM learning to real world problems, and explore extracurricular learning opportunities, including biology, science in art, and computer science. We encourage students, siblings and parents to work together as a family on these activities. All submissions DUE by Friday, August 11.

Our Briarlake Science Olympiad Team is Going to State! The Science Olympiad Team came in 3rd place at the Regional Competition and is headed to the State Competition at Kennesaw State University on May 13th! Good luck, team! Last Friday, our Science Olympiad team was honored for being a state qualifier and one of the top Science Olympiad programs in our county at DeKalb’s Annual Torchbearers for Science awards program. Top medal-winners Aaron Gerstle and Hannah Choy accepted the award on behalf of our team.
School Council’s 4th Academic Challenge of the yea for Briarlake students is due this Friday, May 5th. This final challenge has a math focus and all students who participate in the Challenge will earn a certificate, have their photo taken for display on the Academic Challenge board, and receive a small treat sponsored by PTA. #yourptadollarsatwork
